Highlights of the Become The Expert Pilot Masterclass

Last week, I covered the key takeaways from the first module of my Become The Expert Masterclass. This week, I’ll be summarizing Module 2, which focuses on how to identify who you most want to serve and defining your ideal client avatar.

  • A first impression is make or break. Audit your online persona (i.e.: Google yourself) and determine what assets need to be altered to align with your ideal digital image.
  • Your clients don’t need a hero. They need a guide. Use a personal hero’s journey catered to them to prove you’re qualified to guide them.
  • The client relationship needs to be mutually beneficial. Therefore, it’s essential to know the traits you both require as well as those that are a dealbreaker.
  • Every good character – and client – needs a backstory. It’s up to you to discover it – preferably ahead of time – to ensure that your solution aligns with their needs.
  • Every effective guide needs a proven (and easy to understand) plan.
  • If you are going to stand for something it needs to do two things:
  • Be something you strongly believe in enough to defend
  • Be polarizing enough to attract and repel the right people.
  • It’s critical to get to the root of your cause. If your purpose- driven solution isn’t connecting with the client, keep drilling down “why” questions until you get there.

Top 4 Shows I’ve Recently Binged:

  • The Sopranos (yes, I know I’m way late to the party, but now I get all the fuss. Never before has a show seamlessly woven campy humor with intense drama)
  • Dead to Me (It’s fading down the final stretch after a long hiatus, but I smell an Emmy for Christina Applegate, who carries the show even while battling her own health issues)
  • Quantum Leap (I was a MASSIVE fan of the original series. I’m massively disappointed so far. The plotlines are weak, the characters are unengaging, and they’re trying way too hard to make societal statements. Out of respect for the franchise, I’ll wait it out a little longer)
  • The Bear (Stumbled upon this one and love it. High energy, great use of Chicago as a backdrop. Highly recommend for all foodies and fans of fast paced dramedies).
